The Power of Intuition
One day as I was on my way to work I had a powerful experience of being protected.
On the bus I had been reading my notes following an early morning spiritual discourse at a Meditation Centre in London. As usual I got off the bus at the stop nearest the office. The road here is wide with two lane traffic divided by a barrier. In order to cross the road using the pelican crossing, it means waiting twice in order to cross both the lanes (and actually going in the wrong direction and then having to walk back up the road). Because of this I would usually observe the traffic and walk diagonally across the intersection.
On this particular morning I was about to take the usual approach to cross the road when a voice in my head said very loudly “Don’t be lazy, go the right way”. This sentence came to me three times. As I am not too keen on being considered lazy, I decided to go the long route by the pelican crossings.
As I stepped onto the pavement after crossing both lanes, a truck with sheets of metal screeched to a holt at the traffic lights of the intersection where I would usually cross. The sheets of metal were not secured properly and slipped off the top of the truck and onto the intersection. Luckily there was no-one in the area and so no-one was hurt. I stood there knowing, that if I had gone my usual route I would have certainly been crossing right in front of that truck. I experienced a powerful feeling of being guided away from danger and protected.
